Ballantyne Brokers joins trade body

26 February 2021, London, UK – the London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA) today announced that Ballantyne Brokers is the latest firm to join the association.

LIIBA’s chief executive Christopher Croft said: “We are delighted that Ballantyne Brokers has decided to join LIIBA. Starting up a new brokerage, particularly in the midst of a global pandemic, is a bold move and we look forward to doing all we can to support the Ballantyne team. They have an impressive business model that is heavily technology driven, clearly demonstrating that creative disruption is often driven from within our own community.

“This is a time when a trade body like LIIBA can really demonstrate value to its members. With brokers keen to focus on business during the hardening market, it’s our role on behalf of all out members to address the market-wide regulatory and legal issues thrown up by Brexit, the pandemic and all the other factors that can distract from getting the job done.”

Ballantyne was launched last year by well-known London market figures Ross Ballantyne and Richard Spragg. Its leadership team also includes David Ledger, former Aon Benfield chairman. Ballantyne has initially focused on SME programme business and a comprehensive reinsurance offering.
